AMONG THE AIMS OF AGIHAS ARE
1. Fighting to ensure that fundamental human rights are guaranteed for PLWHA
2. Assisting in the integration of PLWHA in society
3. Promoting PLWHA's social activities
4. Improving the quality of life of PLWHA by providing them
social and psychological support
latest information about general treatment for PLWHA
5. Curbing the spread of HIV infection by
offering education on methods of safer sex
instilling a sense of responsibility for one's own health and the health of others
6. Developing contacts with national & international AIDS organisations

TO ACHIEVE THESE AIMS, AGIHAS
1. Proposes new legislation and amendments to existing legislation where the rights of PLWHA are concerned
2. Promotes the exchange of views on the problems PLWHA face in society
3. Works also to facilitate better treatment of PLWHA in such institutions as the press, law enforcement organisations, the judicial system, and others
